Knob Creek

£39.35
9year old. 50% Proof. Knob Creek derives its name from a nearby stream from which famously (at least, famously to Americans!) Abraham Lincoln was rescued from drowning whilst he was a boy; his father worked in another distillery nearby. It is made on the "small batch" principal for an exclusive group of ultra premium whiskeys that are crafted & go through the distillation process in a limited quantity, making them, more or less, handmade. This gives them distinctive aromas & tastes; one batch being only loosely associated with a previous one. Knob Creek has a bold flavour & is aged for nine years in charred American white oak, which lends this bourbon its maple sugar aroma, distinctive sweetness & rich full bodied flavour. It recently won the National Champion Whiskey prize. As featured in “101 Whiskies to Try Before You Die” by Ian Buxton (see the Books section).
