46% abv. 70cl. This fine Bourbon has been distilled in Texas by Jonathan Likarish at the Ironroot Distillery, then blended by Doug McIvor, Spirits Chief at Berry Brothers & Rudd in St James, London. Only 2000 bottles have been produced. It has enticing aromas of vanilla, honey and fresh bread followed by flavours recalling red apples, toffee and a twist of black pepper. The name recalls Texas' brief spell as an independent nation during the 1830s and '40s. There were at that time 3 Texan Embassies in the world - Washington D.C., Paris and London. The London Embassy was in an upstairs office of Berry Brothers & Rudd, conveniently close to the Palace of St James (to which all foreign ambassadors are accredited) and the links between Berrys and Texas have been close ever since. So close that in 1986 an official Texan delegation visited St James to pay off their outstanding bill for rent of the office!
